Hey Sports Tech Fans,
Happy thanksgiving to my American friends!
It’s been a quieter week this week as a result, so I will keep this weekend’s one extremely short.
If you are looking for something to read I would highly recommend getting SporTechX’s Football Tech report which launched this week.
They will also be running a webinar that will dissect the report and offer a great insight in the the world of football next week on the 3rd of December.
Next week is also WebSummit which will be a very different affair from the usual festival of technology it usually is in Lisbon.
I spoke with Darren Cleary who heads up their Sports Summit, so check out the video below.
The long reads below is an excellent piece from the Washington Post on Sports’ problem with Gen Z as more and more potential fans are looking for more engagement and entertainment than watching a game.
The trends are very clear in the rise of gaming, TikTok, Twitch, etc. which are in direct competition with sports for attention amongst Gen Z and whatever the generation after them will be called.
Have a great sporting weekend,
